Frequently asked questions
Why doesn't a camera color exactly match my paint?
Lighting, automatic white balance, exposure, glare, paint texture and drying all affect camera color. Use even light, avoid reflections, and try adjustments on a small swatch. YaYMiX gives estimates, not spectrophotometer measurements.
My palette scan found the wrong number of colors. What should I do?
Select the correct paint medium, adjust the frame and grid to the actual paint pans, and inspect or remove false samples before saving. Strong reflections and empty wells can confuse detection. The app should not assume a fixed box size.
Where is my paint work saved?
In the reviewed build, paint boxes and recipes are stored locally on your device. There is no YaYMiX account or dedicated cross-device sync. Follow normal iOS backup practices before replacing or erasing your phone.
Can I use YaYMiX without an account?
Yes. No YaYMiX account is needed. Optional Pro features are unlocked through the App Store purchase tied to your Apple Account.
YaYMiX Pro and purchases
Is Pro a subscription?
No. YaYMiX Pro Lifetime is an optional one-time non-consumable purchase. The price for your storefront is shown by Apple in the app before you confirm.
How do I restore Pro?
Open Settings in YaYMiX and tap Restore Purchases while signed into the Apple Account that bought Pro. If it still does not appear, check your Apple purchase history and contact us. Please do not buy again solely to troubleshoot.
What does the free version include?
The free version includes starter paint boxes and core mixing tools. Pro adds custom paint boxes and pigments, brand-catalog import, and camera palette scanning.
